We are happy to share the remarkable sustainability achievements of ABB Limited’s Nashik factory, where Conserve Consultants played a pivotal role as the project sustainability consultant.

The ABB Nashik factory, a hub of innovation for medium-voltage power products, has been a beacon of sustainable practices. Here are some of the key sustainability achievements:
Energy Savings: Achieved around 70% energy savings compared to the IGBC benchmark through measures like Low-E glass, roof & wall insulations, energy-efficient lighting, and HVAC systems.
Water Use Reduction: Achieved a 50% reduction in indoor water use from the IGBC baseline through efficient fixtures and fittings.
ESC Measures: Implemented during both construction and post-occupancy as per the National Building Code of India.
High SRI Measures: Roof and parking areas are treated to reduce the heat island effect.
EV Charging Facilities: Installed as per IGBC norms.
Enhanced Indoor Air Quality: Production spaces are provided with adequate ventilation, and conditioned spaces with 30% excess fresh air, ensuring a healthy environment for employees.
Shuttle Facility: Provided for occupants, promoting the use of public transportation and reducing scope 3 emissions.
Waste Management: Agreement in place to divert 100% of on-site waste from landfills, with proper planning for construction waste diversion.
ABB faced challenges in drafting the Green Policy for IGBC compliance and procuring construction materials. Conserve Consultants guided the ABB team from the project’s inception, conducting IGBC workshops, and meetings with vendors, and internal stakeholders to identify performance improvement opportunities.
Under Conserve’s guidance, the project achieved IGBC Green Factory Re-Certification at Platinum with 87 points.
